Zen Theory on finding ‘ZEN’

Zen Theory on finding ‘ZEN’

By Nez from Zen Theory Jewellery

Perhaps you didn’t know this about me..  I didn’t set out to start an online jewellery store.

Where it all began - rings, ritual and a quiet return to self.

But it did all start towards the end of the pandemic. At a time when teaching and parenting changed me in a way I didn’t expect and I knew my world was no longer sustainable.

Early days - me creating wire rings on my Instagram page.

As a high school teacher and a mum of two, I slowly began to lose myself between online learning, school lunches and late-night lesson planning.

So I started making jewellery.

Not as a side hustle. Not for anyone else. Just as a way to find Nez again.

Healing in the hands - every ring a quiet meditation.

It started with rings - simple wire, a few beads, and quiet hands working at a small desk after long days of teaching. It became a ritual. A way to feel grounded when everything else felt uncertain.

A ring is the most smallest, intricate piece of jewellery to make.

Somewhere between twisting wire and choosing stones, I soon realised that:

The theory of finding ‘zen’ isn’t just about searching for ‘peace’. It’s something we create, moment by moment.

And it can look different in each phase of our lives.

My workmate Chico at his most zen.

For me, making jewellery is about comfort, protection and clarity.

Jewellery making is about finding zen and Nez.

My collection of jewellery is both handmade and curated pieces that offer functionality and style.

I hope Zen Theory Jewellery brings a little more ‘zen’ to your day just like it does for me. Thanks for being here.
